Ana Vnučec

Ana Vnučec (1987, Zagreb) begins her dance education in Ana Maletić School for Contemporary Dance. After graduating, she continues her education by participating at numerous professional dance workshops.
In 2006 she collaborates with Studio Contemporary Dance Company as a young member.
In 2007 she becomes a permanent member of Studio Contemporary Dance Company and since then performs in almost all of the productions of the company, including performances for children, collaborating with numerous internationally renowned authors and performing on relevant Croatian and international festivals. She is also currently in charge of creating and editing the content of Studio’s web page.
Beside her work in Studio, she collaborates with other artistic collectives, authors and organisations (Sodaberg, Domino, Eks scena, Dance_lab collective, Zagreb Dance Company…)
In 2020, she received Croatian Theatre Award for Best performance (female) in Conversation Pieces, produced by Studio Contemporary Dance Company and choreographed by Magdalena Reiter.
She was also nominated two times for the Award of Croatian Dancers Association for Best performance (in the year 2014 and 2016).
Beside dance education, she also graduated from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb with a Master’s Degree in Comparative Literature and General Linguistics. Thus, beside dance, she is also interested in questions of semiology, language and literature.
