Dina Ekštajn (Zagreb 1978), has been dancing since the age of six. She studied classical ballet at the Zagreb School for Classical Ballet for eight years. During that time she performed in Tchaikovsky’s ‘Nutcracker’ and ‘Sleeping Beauty’ at the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb.
She was a member of the Action Dance Studio for several years, under the direction of Kornelija Kosanović Koni, where she practiced and performed in show-dance.
Since 2000, Dina is a permanent member of the Studio Contemporary Dance Company in Zagreb. She has participated in numerous workshops, in most of Studio‘s productions, and has collaborated with many choreographers, directors, and pedagogues, both within and outside of her company.
Dina is a tripple nominee for the Croatian Theater Award: in 2004 she was nominated for her role in ”Kaputt”, choreographed by Mirjana Preis, in 2014 for ‘Pokret-ač’, choreographed by Aleksandran Janeva Imfeld and in 2018 for ‘Ensemble’, choreographed by Jasna Layes Vinovrški. For her performance in ‘Sale’, choreographed by Ksenija Zec, she was nominated for UPUH award in 2009.
Dina is an active dance pedagogue, and in 2009 she won the First Dance Moves Award, at the TREPS festival for her choreography ‘Šeširi’.
She graduated from the Zagreb Academy of Dramatic Arts, Department of contemporary dance with a Bachelor’s Degree in Dance Pedagogy.
In 2019 she becomes the artistic director of Studio Contemporary Dance Company.
